Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans, whole, unroasted
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 350 F.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Stir all ingredients until combined.  Spread onto prepared pan.
  • Bake 10 minutes.  Stir well and reduce oven temperature to 250F.  Bake 15 minutes.
  • Stir well and scrape off parchment onto the pan.  Bake another 15 minutes.
  • Stir well.  Bake and then stir in 10 minute intervals until dry and crunchy.
  • Cool completely on pan.  Store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • So many ways to use these: adding them to cereal, oatmeal, salads, ice cream, pancakes, brussel sprouts and more!
  • Trail mix: combine with dried fruit, other nuts and semisweet chocolate chips as a tasty trail mix.
  • Charcuterie board addition: these would add a special touch to your meat & cheese tray.
  • Cookies: chop them up & add them to your favorite cookie recipe.
  • Gift giving: package them in cellophane bas or in a mason jar decorated with pretty ribbon.
  • On their own: grab a handful for a quick satisfying snack.
