Ingredients

Scale

1/2 c butter, softened
3/4 c packed brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 c flour
1/2 c mini chocolate chips
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c chopped walnuts (optional)
1 1/2 lbs semisweet chocolate candy coating

Cook Mode Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

Cream the butter & brown sugar until light & fluffy.
Add in flour, milk, vanilla & salt – mix well.
Stir in the mini chocolate chips & nuts.
Shape into 1 inch balls; place on wax or parchment lined baking sheet.
Loosely cover & refrigerate until firm (1-2 hours).
Melt candy coating in microwave, stirring often until smooth.
Dip balls in coating; place on wax paper lined sheet.
Refrigerator until firm, about 15 minutes.
Store in the refrigerator.

Notes

We have never had problems eating this without treating our flour. But just in case you wanted to do that…

Here are some ways to heat treat flour:

Oven

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Spread a thin layer of flour on the baking sheet and bake for about 5–7 minutes. Use a food thermometer to check that the flour has reached 160°F.
Microwave

Pour flour into a large, heat-proof bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval. Use an instant-read thermometer to test the grain in several places to make sure it has reached 165°F throughout.
