Ingredients

2 cups vanilla ice cream
3/4 cup whole milk
5 drops green food coloring (optional but makes it that classic green color)
1/4 tsp mint extract (NOT peppermint – just mint)
4 crushed mint flavored Oreo’s + extra if wanted crushed around rim of cup (optional)
whipped cream, chocolate syrup & cherry for top (all optional)

Instructions

If you wanted to design your cup with crushed cookies around the rim and chocolate design inside cup – do that first & put in the refrigerator to keep cold & set up. I dipped the rim of my cup in the chocolate syrup and then into crushed Oreos. I drizzled the syrup inside the cup and then immediately kept in the refrigerator until I was ready to pour & serve. (Optional)
Place the ice cream, milk, food coloring and mint extract in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
If adding crushed Oreos, put them in & stir with a spoon/spatula. I found if I blended them – we didn’t enjoy getting the small “chunks” of cookie as we enjoyed it. (Optional)
Pour into two glasses. Top with whipped cream, sprinkles and cherries, then serve. (Added toppings are optional)

Notes

Best and classic flavor is with MINT extract. NOT peppermint extract.
Depending on how vibrant you want your green color to be – start with 4-5 drops and then add more as you desire.
You can do this shake without the Oreo’s for the classic shake. All added toppings to rim, side and top are optional.
