Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1 (12 oz) jar marinated artichoke hearts, drained, patted dry, chopped
  • 1 (10 oz) fresh spinach, cooked down to wilt a bit
  • 6 oz white cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1 oz Parmesan cheese, finely grated (about 1/2 cup)
  • 2 (8 oz) tubes crescent rolls
  • flour for dusting counter

Instructions

  • Part 1: Prep the Filling

    1. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, add the spinach. Stir constantly until it has wilted, then immediately remove from heat and set it aside.

    2. In a large bowl, whisk together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, garlic powder, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and onion powder until the mixture is smooth.

    3. Stir in the artichoke hearts, wilted spinach, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan until everything is fully combined.

    Part 2: Assemble the Rolls

    1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly brush a 9×13-inch pan with some melted butter, and set the remaining butter aside for later.

    2. On a lightly floured surface, unroll both tubes of crescent rolls side by side. Press the perforations together to create one large rectangle of dough.

    3. Spread the artichoke mixture evenly over the dough. Starting from one of the short sides, roll the dough up tightly into a 15-inch-long log.

    4. Cut the log into 15 slices, each about 1-inch thick. Arrange the slices side by side in the prepared pan.

    5. Generously brush the tops of the buns with the remaining melted butter.

    Part 3: Bake the Buns

    1. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown. If they begin browning too quickly, tent the pan with foil.

    2. Let the buns cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
