This recipe is incredibly easy to make, requiring just a few simple ingredients and minimal effort. With a few basic steps, you can create a jar of delicious marshmallow caramel sauce that’s perfect for any occasion. Customize it with a pinch of salt for a salted caramel twist or experiment with different flavors like vanilla or coffee.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 11 1/2 bag(s) (10 oz bag) of un-wrapped caramel squares (we use Brach’s)
  • 1 stick of butter (1/2 cup)
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

Instructions

  • Unwrap your bag of caramel squares & set aside.  We used a whole bag but if you like it thicker – you may need to add a few more.
  • In a heavy bottom saucepan on the stovetop at medium heat – add your stick of butter until it is melted.
  • Add in your un-wrapped caramels and stir until melted and incorporated to the butter.
  • Once combined add in you mini marshmallows and continue to stir until melted and combined.
  • Lastly, add in your whipping cream and stir until you have a nice and smooth caramel sauce.
  • Store in an airtight, heat-resistant container in the fridge for up to three weeks. The caramel will harden a bit as it cools, but you can reheat it in the microwave for 15–30 seconds to make it smooth again.
