- Prep Time: 25 minutes
- Cook Time: 4 hours refrigerated
- Total Time: Overnight
- Yield: 16 servings 1x
- Category: Appetizer
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
- 2 green onions, coarsely chopped
- 1 small jalapeno, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2–4 Tbsp fresh cilantro
- 1 Tbsp lime juice
- pinch of salt
- 16 oz softened cream cheese
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 1 Tbsp heavy cream
- 1 tsp juices strained from cranberry mixture
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 4–6 Tbsp sugar (or more as needed)
- Optional: additional cranberries for garnish
Instructions
- In a food processor, pulse the fresh cranberries until coarsely chopped. Add in your green onions, jalapeno, powdered sugar, cilantro, lime juice and pinch of salt. Pulse again until just blended.
- Scrape down the sides to get everything equally blended and then pulse again (if needed). Add to a sealed container to refrigerate for 2-4 hours (or up to 24 hours). This helps the sugar to dissolve and the flavors to develop.
- When ready to prepare dip – take out your cranberry mixture and strain. Be sure you press it down so the extra juices come out as much as possible. Set aside the juices to add later.
- In a bowl with an electric mixer, add your softened cream cheese and blend until smooth and creamy. Make sure to scrape down the sides. Add 2/3 cup of your cranberry mixture, sour cream, heavy cream, vanilla, 4-6 Tbsp sugar and 1 tsp of the juice that was strained. Mix until thoroughly combined.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight to fully set up, thicken and flavors develop.
- When ready to serve, put dip into serving bowl and garnish with additional cranberry relish and fresh cranberries (if desired).
- Note: if you find it is too thick – you can add more of your reserved strained juices. Ours did not need any more though.
Notes
- Best if made the day prior so your flavors are fully developed!
