Ingredients
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 lb burger
- 1/2 c uncooked rice
- 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (8 oz) cans of water
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Chop onion & add to large skillet with a little oil to cook until translucent. Add in burger and fully cook.
- Add in tomato sauce & using those same cans, add in water. Then add in uncooked rice & seasonings. Stir until combined.
- Cook until bubbly and rice is fully cooked (about 15-20 minutes). You will notice it is much thicker.
- Chop and prepare all toppings you would normally put on a taco: cheese, lettuce, tomato, salsa, onion, avocado, ranch dressing, sour cream, etc.
- When ready to eat – put layer of chips on plate first. (You could you any chips: Fritos, Doritos, Tortilla, etc.) Then add your meat/rice mixture. Top with whatever toppings you want.
Notes
This makes great leftovers. Save meat/rice mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
