Ingredients
ngredients for Salad:
- 1.5–2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
- 3/4 cup finely diced onion, sauteed with the ground beef
- 2–3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground mustard powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 large sweet potatoes peeled & cut into small cubes
- 1–2 potatoes, skins removed & sliced into wedges
- 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 head shredded lettuce
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes halved or diced tomatoes
- 1 cup diced pickles
- 1 onion thinly sliced, sauteed
- Splash of Worcestershire sauce
Ingredients for Sauce (dressing):
- 1 cup cottage cheese sub plain Greek yogurt or mayo (we used mayo)
- 1 tbsp mayo
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp pickles chopped or dill relish
- 1 tsp green peppercorns crushed (optional)
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 2 tsp pickle juice
- Splash of Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
irections for Salad:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add ¾ cup diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet & cook until the onions are tender and translucent. Add beef & brown the ground beef, breaking it into crumbles. Drain any excess fat.
- Season the beef mixture with a splash of Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- In a separate skillet, sauté the sweet potato cubes until they are just tender. Set aside & then sautee your thin onion slices until golden brown and soft. Set aside until assemble your salad.
- First boil your potatoes (for fries) for 2-3 minutes, completely dry and then double fry them in a pot of oil (taking out in between frying twice). Season well after second fry. *Full instructions in recipe for making fries in my “Fish & Chips” recipe.
- Assemble the salad with all your salad ingredients. Drizzle with Big Mac Sauce/Dressing.
Directions for Sauce:
- Add all the sauce ingredients to a bowl and blend until smooth.
Notes
- You can opt for already made crispy tater tots, diced potatoes, or cubed hash browns instead of making your own fries.
- Keto Big Mac Salad: omit the potatoes and make everything else the same!
